Soldiers who recently served in Iraq, Kuwait and Afghanistan were honored Saturday night at a Welcome Home Warrior Citizen ceremony in Denver.
The event at the downtown Hyatt Regency was to celebrate not only the soldiers’ efforts overseas, but those who supported them while they were gone.
The 200 soldiers, joined by their families, were deployed for about a year with either the 282nd Engineer Company or the 994th Engineer Company.
Each soldier received an encased American flag, a specially-designed commemorative coin and a lapel pin set.
