The owner of Boulder’s Salvaggio’s Deli was arrested today in connection with a domestic violence incident after police allege he threatened a female acquaintance and nearly hit her with his truck.

John Salvaggio, 42, was arrested at 8:30 a.m. today on a warrant during a traffic stop, according to Boulder police spokeswoman Kim Kobel.

He’s accused of sending a woman threatening text messages and driving his truck “very fast” at her, stopping just before reaching her, according to Kobel.

Salvaggio was arrested on suspicion of felony menacing, harassment and domestic violence. He is being held at the Boulder County Jail, and bond has not yet been set. He’s scheduled to make his first appearance in a jail courtroom at 2 p.m. Wednesday.
