COLORADO SPRINGS — Fire officials say a helicopter pilot and two passengers were uninjured after making an emergency landing at a field northeast of Colorado Springs.
The Colorado Springs Gazette reports that the city’s air-traffic controllers were trying to help the pilot land when communication broke off. Officials were unsure whether the helicopter landed safely Saturday evening, but the pilot later made contact with emergency crews using a strobe light.
It wasn’t immediately known what prompted the emergency landing.
