Firefighters pulled a woman from her burning home in Parker this afternoon.

South Metro Fire Rescue Authority crews also were able to save one dog, but another perished, according to a media release.

The fire was contained to one room in the home in the 11000 block of Tim Tam Way, but the entire structure was heavily damaged by smoke and water, said South Metro Fire Rescue spokesman Anthony Valdez said.

The woman was taken to a local hospital, but her condition was not available tonight.

The fire is thought to have been an accident, caused by an overloaded power strip. The blaze took about 20 minutes to extinguish.
