A 25-year-old man accused of serving as a key dealer in a multilevel drug ring that police believe moved pounds of cocaine and methamphetamine in and around Longmont wants to take a deal with prosecutors.

James Romero was accused in two indictments of dealing cocaine and methamphetamine to other accused dealers and users in and around Longmont. He was on track to go to trial in the first indictment when the second was handed down in December.

He was scheduled to appear in Boulder District Court on Tuesday for pretrial motions, but instead was rescheduled for a Friday hearing to take a plea deal with prosecutors.
