A 10-year-old who is battling a rare form of leukemia had one wish. Monday, the Aurora Police Department made it come true.

Isaac Lucero, a fourth grader at Molholm Elementary School, now has his own police officer’s badge. Isaac was awarded the badge in a special ceremony.

“We’ll always have the plaque to look on, the pictures, the hat. You know something that simple to a 10-year-old means the world and him being happy and having a good time means the world to our family,” Desiree Lucero, Isaac’s mother, said.

Isaac also got to visit the police station and ride in the back of a police car with its sirens going and lights flashing.
