LAS VEGAS—Authorities have identified a man who died Monday after falling nine stories at the Hard Rock Hotel in Las Vegas.
The Clark County coroner’s office says 38-year-old James Leslie Herman from Eagle, Colo., fell by accident.
Las Vegas police spokesman Marcus Martin says Herman climbed onto a railing Monday night, then lost his balance and plunged nine stories.
The Las Vegas Review-Journal reports authorities thought it was a suicide at first.
The Vail Daily reports Herman was in Las Vegas on a vacation. The newspaper reports he worked as the managing director of a restaurant and lived in the Vail Valley area for 15 years.
