An autopsy was scheduled for Thursday to determine why a 31-year-old Fort Collins man collapsed at the Larimer County Jail Wednesday and died at a hospital shortly after.
While Brian Porter’s death appeared to be from natural causes, Sheriff Justin Smith said he was concerned enough about the third inmate death since January that a review of jail procedures would begin.
Porter, an unemployed plumber, had been an inmate at the jail since February, and was found to be in good health during a physical exam in early March.
