BOULDER — The Boulder Valley School District’s next superintendent will be Bruce Messinger, now the chief of Helena Public Schools in Montana, the Daily Camera reports.

The school board voted 5-1 Tuesday to hire Messinger to succeed Chris King, who’s retiring after four years at the district’s helm. School board member Tom Miers voted “no.” Helayne Jones was absent.

The other two finalists were Deirdre Pilch, Boulder Valley’s assistant superintendent for school leadership, and Nancy Sebring, superintendent of Des Moines Public Schools.
