Investigators can’t begin looking for the cause of a blaze that consumed an Aurora home on Saturday night causing an estimated $400,000 damage until the Monday due to the risk of a cave-in.

Two adults and an infant escaped the flames at 4202 South Quemoy Court, said Aurora Fire spokesman Capt. Allen Robnett.

“The investigation can’t begin until we can stabilize the house, which should be tomorrow,” Robnett said.

Firefighters rushed to the scene after a caller reported heavy smoke and flame coming from the garage just before 11:30 p.m., Robnett said.

When they arrived they found “a fully involved house fire.”

It took about 40 minutes to get the fire under control.

“We were able to protect the neighbors houses,” Robnett said.
