Two women riding Segways on the sidewalk near the intersection of 15th and California Street in Denver suffered serious injuries after a car left the street and hit them, police said.
Denver Police spokesman Sonny Jackson said two cars were headed down 15th Street when one made an improper turn, forcing the other to swerve onto the sidewalk and strike the two women on Segway scooters. The impact knocked one woman unconscious and the other appeared to have a broken leg, Jackson said.
Both women were taken to the hospital. Their ages and identities have not been released.
Both drivers stopped and spoke with police, Jackson said. The driver of the car that caused the accident received a citation for an improper turn, but the driver of the vehicle that struck the women was not cited.
