COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo.—Businessman Steve Bach who pledged to bring jobs to Colorado Springs has won a runoff election for mayor.
The 68-year-old commercial real estate broker had a big lead in the early returns Tuesday night. The Gazette reports that 58-year-old Richard Skorman has conceded the race.
Early returns showed Bach with 53,565 votes to Skorman’s 40,069.
Bach will have broader powers than his predecessors when he takes office June 7 because of a change in government that gives the mayor more authority. He campaigned as being business friendly and pledged to cut red tape at City Hall.
