The National Weather Service received multiple reports of a tornado touching down southeast of the Colorado Springs Airport this afternoon.

A tornado warning issued by the weather service expired at 5:15 p.m., as the storm appeared to weaken as it moved northeast. Residents could still see small hail as a part of this storm, the weather service said.

Fountain firefighters reported the tornado touching down near C and S Road and Link Road, about four miles southeast of the Colorado Springs Airport. It then moved north before going back up into the sky.

They did not find any damage in the area, the Fountain Fire Department reported.
