Ranch plans are super-popular with people out shopping for homes this spring – but designers of KB Home’s Open Series are talking to those buyers and finding that not just ANY ranch will do. “People are begging for bigger ranches,” says Rusty Crandall, Division President for KB Home. Today, you can register to win an internet tablet, just for taking a look at a new ranch floorplan that KB has coming to Outlook Pointe, off 120th Avenue near Chambers Road.
Of course, you can also tour the Augusta ranch model home – three bedrooms priced from only $184,995, but with surprising space, amplified by 8-foot doors and 9-foot ceilings, and wide open great room and kitchen that has a pantry. But that’ll be dwarfed by the new ‘Maidstone’ plan sales reps Stephanie and Lena will preview for you. It will offer four bedrooms or an option for three-plus-a-study, 2,126 square feet. That’s in addition to the 2-car or optional 3-car garage; and partial basement. (That same plan at KB’s new Heathstead II at Canterberry Crossing in Parker will be based around $80,000 higher.)
Crandall notes that some visitors to Outlook Pointe are coming from larger, older ranches, some as large at 4,000 feet, that were built around the time Buffalo Run Golf Course arrived there. “They may be downsizing,” he says, “but they still want a big home.”
Meanwhile, KB Home is bringing out a sizable 4-bedroom 2-story to complement two other 2-story models you’ll tour. With 2,794 square feet priced from $229,995, it offers finished space at $82/per square foot – pretty much a number builders haven’t offered since the 1990s.
Both plans and all of the finished models show Open Series flex spaces designed to meet specific needs — and KB Home’s cost-conscious approach to options, culminating in a visit to the huge “One-Stop-Shop” Design Studio. Buyers reaching for the very most affordable pricing (FHA at 3-1/2% down from around $1,388/month, fixed, either for a ranch or a two story) can stay within their means by skipping items that aren’t important (master tub) and keeping things that are (partial basement, powder bath, and a country-style porch).
Be sure to ask about the new King Soopers coming and the 27-J Schools. To register to win the internet tablet, take I-76 north to Sable (first exit after U.S. 85), turn LEFT to 120th Avenue, then east (right) a half mile to Chambers and watch for signs (Outlook’s models are 122nd and Joplin). From Aurora take Tower north to 120th, then west.
