Tuesday’s graduation parade of cadets at the Air Force Academy has been canceled due to dangerous weather.
Lightning in the area forced the cancellation, academy spokesman John Van Winkle said shortly after 9 a.m.
Hail throughout the morning at the academy was inconvenient, but lightning posed safety concerns, he said.
Wednesday’s graduation ceremony will continue as planned unless dangerous weather occurs, Van Winke said.
Academy officials will strive to make that call by 8 a.m. Wednesday. Lightning would lead officials to postpone the graduation ceremony or move it indoors. Rain, however, would not.
