A 31-year-old man was arrested early Thursday after multiple gunshots were fired and a house was hit in central Colorado Springs.

From midnight until about 2 a.m., police were called multiple times about gunshots being fired in the same area, near East Monument Street and Prairie Road.

When a pair of officers responded to a call just before 2 a.m., they saw muzzle flashes at a residence, police said. Matthew Fannin was standing outside with two other people, firing a rifle, according to a police report.

After calling in help from all four Colorado Springs police divisions, officers saw Fannin walking down Monument Street without the gun. They took him into custody on suspicion of felony discharge of a firearm and other charges.
