The Arapahoe County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a possible kidnapping today in which the victim was returned unharmed after three hours.
Deputies responded to a report of a kidnapping at the Colorado Muslim Society mosque at 1:19 p.m. Mosque surveillance video showed the victim, a 4-year-old girl, walking away with an adult woman, who was unknown by the child’s parents.
At about 3:45 p.m., the Sheriff’s Office said, the girl’s mother received a phone call from an unidentified man who said he was with the girl and the female suspect at the mosque, where the girl and her mother were reunited.
The Sheriff’s Office did not identify the man and woman suspected of taking the child, and a Sheriff’s Office spokesman said they are not yet facing charges.
