If you haven’t seen Saturday morning’s sports scene along Lowry’s Sports Boulevard, you’re going to be amazed how Denver’s first master-planned community grew exactly as imagined – all of life close to where you live: parks, trails, shopping, dining and schools, not to count kids’ baseball, soccer and hockey, much of it walkable. …And affordable, too – something two Lowry builders will show you today, along with a $10 Starbucks card just for coming to see a creative new neighborhood and some finished models.

Berkeley Homes and David Weekley Homes launch one of Lowry’s final chapters today: You can tour big models by both builders in Lowry’s East Park area, between Common Grounds Golf Course, the sports parks and Great Lawn…then see The Greens at Lowry — single family homes from as low as $289,000, on a new urban streetscape that faces homes across “paseo” green spaces – no cars, no traffic, rear-alley garages, lots of places for kids to play and neighbors to visit.

“For the first time in years, you have single family homes under $300,000,” says Rich Laws, Berkeley Homes president. “They’re so low that they’ll compete strongly with resale homes in Lowry.” The grassy paseos have another advantage, as well – landscape maintained as part of a package. “The old maintenance-free was for over 60,” Laws added as he showed me the first Greens homes nearing completion. “Now younger families have soccer, hockey, Odyssey of the Mind…people are just too busy for lots of yard work.”

“And you can’t find anything more affordable, so close to the amenities and open space,” adds Walter Watson, division president for David Weekley. Sales reps Michelle Wood and Elizabeth Finnerty will tell you about Weekley’s green-building expertise. “Your energy bills will be so much less than a resale home that size,” Watson notes.

And you’ll see how interconnected Lowry is, not just to amenities, but for commuting – 15 minutes to downtown, to DTC, or to Fitzsimons medical campus (each builder has already taken three Greens sales, including from Fitzsimons buyers). “This neighborhood is all about families, having kids, and being able to entertain relatives,” says Berkeley’s Carol Barrington, who can arrange to add low-cost finished basement space for a family room and extra bedroom/bath…or show you larger homes (18 have sold since fall) and five new sites that face Prospect Park. Starbuck’s cards are while they last, one per family. Take Lowry Boulevard east from Quebec a mile to the traffic circle, then south on Yosemite to models on E. 4th.
