Scott Binder, who in January announced his resignation as Comcast’s top Colorado executive, will become president and chief executive officer of the Denver-based management consulting firm FCCServices.

Binder, a Fort Morgan-native, will start with FCCServices Sept. 1.

FCCServices provides business consulting services to the Farm Credit System – a nationwide network of borrower-owned lending institutions and specialized service organizations that help farmers, ranchers, rural homeowners and rural utilities.

FCCServices also provides consulting services to municipalities and agricultural cooperatives.

In announcing Binder’s move, the FCCServices board of directors said it had, with the support of retiring FCCServices president Roger Shaffer, conducted an extensive recruiting and selection process before naming Binder.

“Scott brings a wealth of experience, ingenuity and work ethic to FCCServices,” said board chairman Loyd Rutherford. “Our company is committed to helping clients achieve greater success by providing services focused on leadership and operational excellence – both areas where Scott has a proven track record…”

During his 12 years with Comcast, Binder worked in various roles, holding the position as senior vice president of Comcast’s Mile High Region for six years, overseeing sales, technical operations, customer service and local marketing. The region includes Colorado and New Mexico.

Binder currently serves as chairman of the board of trustees of Mile High United Way and also sits on the board of directors of the Denver Public Schools Foundation.

FCCServices said that throughout his career, Binder frequently served in a consulting capacity to management teams which identified new product growth, leadership development and organizational redesign.

Kelly Brough, president and CEO of the Denver Metro Chamber of Commerce, said that Binder’s “business acumen” will be an asset to FCCServices.

“Under Scott’s leadership, FCCServices will be well-positioned to bring additional benefits to residents and businesses of Colorado communities and beyond,” said Brough.

Retiring FCCServices president Shaffer served in that position for eight years. Under Shaffer’s leadership, FCCServices “saw unprecedented growth,” said the company.
