Rev. Timothy Tyler and Shorter Community African Methodist Episcopal Church will hold Men’s Ministry Retreat and Worship Experience, with special guest the Rev. Jeremiah Wright, 5 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. Friday and 7:30 a.m. to noon Saturday.
Wright, pastor emeritus and former mentor of President Barack Obama, will be facilitating discussions at the retreat, which will examine the role of black men in the home, church and in society. Topics include identifying the root cause of the black male crisis and the role of the church in the social and economic crisis.
