A man from Arizona was rescued at Rocky Mountain National Park yesterday after he was injured in a fall near Ouzel Falls.
The 53-year-old male from Chandler, whose name was not released, was about 2.5 miles from the Wild Basin Trailhead.
Other park visitors initially helped the man and notified a trail crew about 2:15 p.m.
It took a park medic until 5:00 p.m. to get to the man, who “had numerous traumatic injuries requiring advanced life support care,” the park said in a news release.
A large team of rescuers used a toboggan to get through deep snow and a wheeled litter once they reached a trail. The rescue party made it the trailhead at 8:30 p.m.
An ambulance took the man to Estes Park Medical Center.
