GRAND JUNCTION, Colo.—A former professional horse racing jockey authorities say was one of Mesa County’s largest methamphetamine dealers has been sentenced to 32 years in prison.
The Daily Sentinel in Grand Junction reports that 35-year-old Armando Rodriguez-Estrada was sentenced Monday to the maximum term following his guilty plea to distribution of meth.
Authorities investigated Rodriguez-Estrada for two years. They say he and 36-year-old Michelle Oritz-Ramirez commanded the two largest drug organizations identified in Mesa County in recent years.
Ortiz-Ramirez was sentenced to 14 years in prison last week.
