Denver police say that a report of a woman being shot at a downtown Denver bus stop Tuesday night now appears to be false.

Based on today’s investigation, it does not appear that a woman was wounded while waiting for a bus near Broadway and 17th Street, said Sonny Jackson, spokesman for the Denver Police Department.

Police originally reported that a woman was shot in the hip about 11:15 p.m. and taken to Denver Health Medical Center.

RTD was unable to comment on the open investigation and referred all questions to police.
