DENVER—Denver police are investigating after a woman was shot while waiting for a bus in downtown Denver.

Denver police spokesman Sonny Jackson says the woman reported hearing a pop Tuesday night and then realized she had been shot near her hip.

She was taken to Denver Health Medical Center. Her injuries are not life-threatening.

Jackson told the Denver Post the shot may have come from a nearby vehicle. The woman was not identified.

Meanwhile, the condition of a Colorado State University student wounded in what police say was a random drive-by shooting has improved.

Police say Jamie Warfield was shot while walking with several friends in downtown Fort Collins early Monday morning. They say a vehicle approached the group at a slow speed and fired.
