A suspected bank robber was busted this morning when a dye pack exploded as a police officer closed in on the fleeing bandit.
The incident happened about 11:30 a.m. when a Key Bank, 100 Broadway, was held up, said Sonny Jackson, a Denver Police Department spokesman.
Denver police officer was in the area driving when he was flagged down by a pedestrian who alerted him of the fleeing robbery suspect, Jackson said.
The officer pursued the bolting suspect, who ran into an alley and a dye pack exploded, Jackson said.
The suspect is in custody. No one was injured.
“It was good police work,” Jackson said.
