Paramedics and firefighters helped deliver a baby in the front seat of a family car at a 7-Eleven in Breckenridge Monday night.

Red, White and Blue Fire District firefighters and Summit County Ambulance Service paramedics were called shortly before 9 p.m. to the convenience store at 10992 Colorado Highway 9.

The father and other family members were nearby when the baby was delivered minutes later, the fire department said in a media release today.

The family, who was not named, was on its way to St. Anthony Summit Medical Center in Frisco, about 7 miles north, when they realized they couldn’t make it and pulled into the store parking lot.
