BRECKENRIDGE, Colo.—A Colorado baby nurse about to give birth to her third child knew she couldn’t make it to the hospital, so she had her husband pull into the parking lot of a convenience store in Breckenridge.
The Summit Daily News reported Wednesday that Lisa Cravener of Fairplay gave birth Monday to her son minutes after stopping outside a 7-Eleven.
Her husband, Jim Cravener, said ambulances, police and firefighters arrived two minutes after he called them. Three minutes later, Hunter James Cravener was born.
The baby has been nicknamed “Big Gulp” after a well-known fountain drink at the store. The mother and baby were taken to the hospital and officials say they’re doing well.
Jim Cravener says he later apologized to the police for speeding.
