The Urban Land Conservancy on Thursday said it paid nearly $1.2 million for land to be developed into a residential and retail area along Denver’s FasTracks southwest light-rail corridor.

The land at 2140 S. Delaware St., across from the light-rail station at West Evans Avenue, is the fourth property ULC acquired using Denver’s Transit- Oriented Development Fund.

The fund is specifically for acquiring and preserving land for workforce housing near existing or future light-rail stops and high-frequency bus routes.

ULC is partnering with Medici Communities LLC, an affordable-housing developer.

The project, called Evans Station Lofts, will be five stories, include 50 residential units, and 7,100 square feet of retail and commercial space. The Denver Post
