A Longmont couple who unknowingly adopted a dog stolen from a northwest Nebraska home will get to keep Ebony, the 18-month-old female Rottweiler they say has become a beloved member of their family.
Dave and Diane Willson, with the help of the Wheat Ridge office of The Animal Law Center, have reached an agreement to buy a new Rottweiler puppy for Tonya Berndt, the Gordon, Neb.-area woman from whom Ebony, then named Nadia, was stolen in November.
“We feel like a ton of bricks has been lifted from us,” Diane Willson said Wednesday. “It’s such a relief.”
