The Urban Land Conservancy today announced it paid nearly $1.2 million for land to be developed into residential and retail along Denver’s FasTracks southwest light rail corridor.

The land at 2140 S. Delaware St. is the fourth property ULC has acquired using Denver’s Transit-Oriented Development Fund and is directly across from the light rail station at Evans Avenue.

The Fund is specifically for acquiring and preserving land for workforce housing near existing or future light rail stops and high frequency bus routes.

ULC is partnering with Medici Communities LLC, an affordable housing developer. Medici recently was awarded $1 million in low-income housing tax credits for the project.

To be called Evans Station Lofts, it is to be a five-story development which will include 50 residential workforce units and 7,100 square feet of retail and commercial space.
