Denver-based Chipotle Mexican Grill said Wednesday that it expects to use more than double the amount of local produce this year than it had anticipated using.
The restaurant operator had a goal of using about 5 million pounds of local produce, such as bell peppers, oregano and romaine lettuce. Now it foresees using more than 10 million pounds at its 1,100 locations.
