Getting your player ready...
Talk of Alex Rodriguez struggling has become a whisper. The Yankees third baseman set the tone Saturday with a run-scoring single in the first inning. Rodriguez has driven in a run in his last five games. He is hitting .408 and has 16 RBIs since June 10.
High praise.
Yankees manager Joe Girardi compared Rockies shortstop Troy Tulowitzki to Rodriguez on Saturday. “He’s in more the A-Rod mold (with his size). He’s at the top of his game right now. A heads-up player.”
Catching up.
Catcher Matt Pagnozzi made his third start, with Chris Iannetta expected to start the remainder of the road trip. The Rockies are 28-28 when Iannetta plays.
