LAKEWOOD — Lakewood police have identified the man killed Saturday morning after he drove the wrong direction on West Sixth Avenue and crashed into a Jeep Liberty as Harold Kirkpatrick, 85, of Westminster.
Kirkpatrick crashed into the Jeep between Garrison and Kipling streets about 10 a.m., a quarter-mile after he began to drive west in the eastbound lanes of traffic, police said.
Kirpatrick and the woman driving the Jeep were both taken to St. Anthony Hospital, where the woman was treated for minor injuries and Kirkpatrick died several hours later.
