Longmont police are investigating a fatal stabbing that occurred overnight at 890 Elliot St. Police were called to the home at about 2:15 a.m. and found a woman stabbed to death in the kitchen of a rental apartment in the lower level of the home.
“It is suspicious,” said Sgt. Sean Harper.
He would not say whether anyone else was in the home at the time the woman was stabbed or when police arrived. No one is in police custody on suspicion of the stabbing, Harper said, but police do not believe the community is in any danger.
Police, prosecutors and the Boulder County Coroner’s Office are investigating the death. Police are awaiting the arrival of a warrant to search the home and a vehicle on the property.
