LONGMONT, Colo.—A 32-year-old Boulder woman suspected of causing a car wreck that killed a 33-year-old man has been arrested and is being held on $1 million bond.
Court records obtained by the Longmont Times-Call show that 32-year-old Lisa Norton pleaded guilty to driving under the influence and was sentenced to 12 months of probation just two days before Saturday’s accident.
The Colorado State Patrol says a pickup truck driven by Norton collided with a car driven by Gabriel Nielsen of Boulder near a lake in Longmont. The patrol says Norton tried to escape by swimming across the lake, but was retrieved by boaters.
The Times-Call reports Norton was arrested on several charges, including suspicion of DUI-related vehicular homicide, vehicular assault, DUI and driving with a revoked license.
