WHITMORE LAKE, Mich. — Michigan U.S. Rep. Thaddeus McCotter officially announced at an Independence Day celebration that he will seek the Republican Party’s nomination for president.
The 45-year-old attorney from the Detroit suburb of Livonia made the announcement Saturday evening during a festival in Whitmore Lake, 30 miles west of Detroit.
