Denver Triathlon

July 23-24: Independent Endurance Sports presents this inaugural triathlon July 24. The main competition features a 1,500-meter swim (1 mile), 40-kilometer bike ride (25 miles) and a 10-kilometer run (6.2 miles). This race has been sanctioned by the USA Triathlon Association, a governing body of the United States Olympic Committee. Athletes can also compete in the Sprint Triathlon that includes an 800 meter swim (half a mile), 10 mile bike, and 3.1 mile run. A “Kids That Tri Duathlon” is July 23 along with a Health & Fitness Expo and packet pickup at Invesco Field at Mile High.

Real estate tours on B-cycle bikes

July 24: Denver B-cycle and Kentwood City Properties offer a healthful way to tour real estate and get to know various neighborhoods. Denver Parks & Recreation

Through Aug. 14: Has partnered with Kaiser Permanente for the third year to offer Denver teens ages 13-17 free admission to city recreation centers and swimming pools. Youths age 12 and under may purchase a three-month membership for $10.50 or see if they qualify for a scholarship.

Denver Union Station Summer Walking Tours

Thursday: The Denver Union Station Project Authority is conducting free walking tours of the Denver Union Station redevelopment site. Tours begin at 4:30 p.m. the first and third Thursdays of each month through September. The one-hour tour departs from the main entrance on Wynkoop Street and includes historical information about Union Station from the late 1800s to today. Each tour is limited to 25 people.
