A serial felon from Aurora was sentenced to 320 years in prison today for robbing a poker game at a Littleton home in 2008.

David Henry Torrez, 29, and an unidentified accomplice carried a pistol, a knife and a large chain as they robbed guests at the home.

After examining the haul, Torrez ordered his partner to assault a guest, who was laying on the floor, with the chain, leaving serious injuries to his head and face, prosecutors said.

Though Torrez and the accomplice covered their faces, he was tracked down because he was driving his uncle’s car and witnesses got the license plate number, according to the District Attorney’s Office.

An Arapahoe County jury in February deliberated for four hours before convicting Torrez on 15 counts each of aggravated robbery, first-degree burglary and first-degree assault.

Torrez has an 11-year-long arrest record, including four previous felony convictions.

He was sentenced to three years in prison in 2002 in a case that included assault on a police officer, car theft, reckless endangerment of a child and eluding police. He was sentenced to another year after an escape charge in 2004, records show.
