WETMORE, Colo.—A wildfire in southern Colorado could be fully contained by Wednesday evening.
The 154-acre fire near Wetmore is 80 percent contained. Fire managers say crews are working to reinforce those lines and they anticipate 100 percent containment by the end of the day.
They expect to be helped by higher humidity and cooler temperatures.
The fire started Sunday at about the same time a vintage plane crashed in a wooded ravine, killing the pilot. Authorities say they’re still investigating what sparked the fire.
