Johnstown police teamed with the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, Immigration and Customs Enforcement and the Colorado Springs police to arrest a Johnstown man on charges involving the sexual exploitation of children.
The suspect, David Dalrymple, 65, of Johnstown, was arrested for allegedly downloading and sending photos of naked girls, between the ages of 7 and 12 years old.
Attention was first called to Dalrymple by a Colorado Springs detective who monitored child pornography in peer-to-peer networks in Colorado and across the country.
Using the federal agencies, Johnstown Officer Joe Mendez reportedly tracked several of the national child porn networks to Dalrymple’s computer. When questioned by officers, Dalrymple admitted to downloading some of the images, but said they were of girls 12 years and older, according to the Weld District Court affidavits.
Dalrymple was arrested Wednesday on two charges of sexual exploitation of children, and he is being held in the Weld County Jail.
