BOULDER, Colo.—Hygiene Fire Protection District Chief William Nelson is due in court after he was arrested on suspicion of impersonating an officer and driving under the influence.
Police say Nelson used his personal car to pull someone over after a traffic altercation on Saturday. He is expected to make his first court appearance on Monday.
Boulder County sheriff’s Sgt. Mike Dimond tells the Boulder Daily Camera that officers who responded to the scene determined that Nelson was intoxicated. Dimond says officers also found less than an ounce of marijuana and guns in his vehicle.
