FORT COLLINS, Colo.—After years of salary freezes and pay cuts, Larimer County employees are expected to get raises next year, even if it means cutting staff.
County commissioners on Tuesday approved a 1.5 percent increase in pay for employees as well as a 1 percent merit increase for workers for performance.
Commissioner Steve Johnson says an annual survey of what other employers are paying found the county’s pay scale has fallen below the policy of paying 50 percent of the market rate for a given job, according to the Fort Collins Coloradoan.
The county cuts its budget $4 million this year, in part because of staff efficiencies.
