About 30 residents attended a neighborhood meeting Wednesday night to learn about a proposal to drill 15 directional oil and gas wells on the Aims Community College campus in Greeley.
The wells, separators and production tanks will be near a cluster of single-family homes to the east, as well as a cul-de-sac in the Country Club West subdivision to the northwest.
It was these residents who took pointed issue with noise, traffic, safety and dust from the operation which, pending city approval, could be completed and producing oil and gas by mid-fall.
Residents who live within a 500-foot radius of the drill site were invited to the informational meeting, which included representatives from the city, the drilling company and the engineering firm. Aims stands to collect $350,000 or more annually from the drilling.
