Perkins & Marie Callender’s, which on Thursday filed its plans for reorganization under Chapter 11 bankruptcy, has closed four Perkins restaurants in Colorado and 27 Perkins nationally.
The company also closed 31 Marie Callender’s nationally, company spokeswoman Vivian Brooks said.
It closed all three Perkins locations in Colorado Springs and the Perkins at 3244 S. Wadsworth Blvd. in Lakewood.
There are still nine Perkins locations in Colorado — two in Loveland and one each in Arvada, Golden, Westminster, Denver, Fort Collins, Greeley and Longmont.
The only remaining Marie Callender’s in Colorado was unaffected by the closures, according to Robert Grisham, owner and operator of the Marie Callender’s franchise at South Broadway and East Dry Creek Road.
Brooks said she did not have any information regarding future closings.
J. Trungale, president and chief executive of Perkins & Marie Callender’s, said the company expects “to emerge from its financial restructuring in a significantly strengthened financial position.”
