The Gregory Brothers have become YouTube sensations by taking spoken rants and using auto-tune to turn them into songs, like Charlie Sheen’s “Winning!” and Christine O’Donnell’s “I Am Not a Witch.” Now you can give yourself and friends the Gregory Brothers treatment. The free app Songify, available Thursday for the iPhone, records spoken words and then auto-tunes the voice while adding an instrumental track to create a song.
The app was developed by the Gregory Brothers with the app maker Khush. Songify is the kind of app that your friends will wave in your face for a week until you scream at them to stop. Of course, they may turn that into a song.
