An early morning crash on southbound Interstate 25 made for a tough drive for commuters heading south through Denver this morning.
The Colorado Department of Transportation said a “pretty serious accident” on southbound I-25 at Broadway forced crews to close the roadway at about 5:15 this morning.
Denver police dispatch said the crash happened at about 5 a.m. and involved two vehicles.
Injuries, if any, were minor and no one involved in the accident had to be taken to the hospital, said Sonny Jackson, a Denver Police Department spokesman.
One driver had to be freed from a vehicle because the doors would not open. A red Ford Mustang was mangled in the crash and had to be towed from the scene.
Traffic was diverted off southbound I-25 at Santa Fe and the highway re-opened about an hour after the collision.
No official word on what caused the crash.
