Getting your player ready...
The Braves have made a living this year capitalizing on mistakes. In the sixth inning, Martin Prado made one. With runners on second and third and no outs, he tried to advance home on a groundball to third baseman Ian Stewart. Prado was out by several feet, and the rally quickly fizzled.
Nine is fine.
Todd Helton extended his season-high hitting streak to nine games with a first-inning home run.
Street smarts.
The Braves are nothing if not smart, making two critical decisions. In the seventh, they pitched out to catch Dexter Fowler stealing. Then in the eighth, Jordan Schafer, obviously leaning on a scouting report, swiped second on reliever Matt Lindstrom’s first pitch.
