Colbie Callait’s breakout 2007 album, “Coco,” positioned her as the mellow, sunny alternative to the contrived spectacle of so many pop stars. Boyz II Men are living up to the latter half of their name these days, but the ’90s R&B group is still a solid addition to Labor Day weekend’s A Taste of Colorado festival. And by “solid” we mean a refreshing change of pace from standard fair-circuit acts like Survivor and Night Ranger. The annual food celebration, which runs Sept. 2-5 in Civic Center, will feature more than 50 local restaurants, kids activities and hundreds of arts and crafts booths. Other musical acts include Asia, Blood Sweat & Tears, Pat Travers and Herman’s Hermits. The music is free, and food tickets will be on sale at the event. (atasteofcolorado )
