This is not a dream. It’s a mini dream team. With the future of the NBA under a black cloud, 2K Sports is going retro for some of the game’s brightest stars. NBA Hall of Famers Magic Johnson and Larry Bird are joining Michael Jordan on the “NBA 2K12” team, with each gracing three distinct covers of the video game. Last year, Jordan was the cover athlete for 2K’s NBA game, which sold more than 5 million units. The new covers will be dispersed equally across the country, while only the Jordan cover will be available in non-U.S. markets. The game will be available Oct. 4.
