Today and Sunday. Celebrate German arts and culture at the fourth annual German Fest Denver, hosted by the Colorado Folk Arts Council. Fill up on traditional German foods and then be entertained by folk-dance and music groups including the Denver Kickers, the T.E.V. Edelweiss Schuhplattlers, and the Helmut Fricker Band. 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. today and 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday at the T.E.V. Edelweiss Pavilion in Morrison. Tickets are $10 in advance, $15 at the door. Kids 12 and younger get in free.

Outdoor adventure fest

Today. Enjoy a mountain adventure just 30 minutes from downtown Denver during Summer Fun Day, a community event at Cherry Creek State Park. Co-hosted by Outdoor Nation and Colorado Parks and Wildlife, this event features fishing clinics, a climbing wall, bird programs and other expert-led outdoor activities. Sunday. The Denver Roller Dolls host an open skate and derby training at the 1stBankCenter. Co-hosted by the city of Broomfield, the event is is an opportunity to join the Dolls for sessions that demonstrate the strategies of their rough-and- tumble game.
